YOGA THERAPEUTIC SERIES

- AT THE MINDFUL BODY

Do you have a constant pain in a certain area of your body, such as your hips, back, neck or knees? Do you feel weak in your core, shoulders or hips? If so this series of workshops could really help you!
The sessions will be a combination of lecture using a skeleton to help you see what happens on the inside, yoga poses and questions and answers. The anatomy presented will be simple, powerfully relevant, and easily applied to your practice.
This series is suitable for yoga students with one or more years of experience.
With every movement that we make there is a chain reaction, therefore students will benefit most by registering for all four sessions, but single sign-ups are welcome where space allows.

Hips & Sacroiliac Joints. Learn about healthy range of motion in these joints and which practices can be therapeutically beneficial and what to avoid when there is injury.

Knees & Ankles. Learn about healthy knee and ankle alignment as well as how to modify poses when there is discomfort in these joints. We will also explore how misalignment in other joints can cause pain in the knees and ankles.

The Whole Spine. Become informed about healthy range of motion from the lower back to upper neck and how this knowledge can radically change our experience in certain poses. The yoga practice will also highlight ways to relieve pain and build strength.

The Shoulders. Learn how to relieve pain caused by muscle tension and build strength where we tend to be weak.
 
Yoga Teachers: Full series qualifies as 14 hours towards YA continuing education.
